Hip Crypt has never fit neatly into one box — and that’s exactly the point.

The idea began in Orange County, California, in the 1990s, surrounded by loud music, vintage cars, Rockabilly, Goth, Punk and the wonderfully unconventional people who made those scenes their own.

What started as an idea for an alternative clothing brand eventually became something much bigger: a place for finding pieces that let you create a world and a style entirely your own.

Over the years, Hip Crypt has taken many forms — from handmade skeleton hand barrettes sold in Southern California boutiques to vintage clothing, collectibles, alternative fashion and, eventually, the online boutique you see today.

A Little Dark. A Little Wild. Never Ordinary.

Hip Crypt isn't exclusively Goth. It isn't exclusively Rockabilly, vintage, cosplay or costume.

It's a little bit of all of them.

You'll find corsets and dramatic capes alongside playful costumes, statement shoes, vintage treasures, unusual accessories, collectibles and things that are simply too interesting to leave behind.

Some pieces are dark and dramatic. Others are bright, glamorous, strange, nostalgic, romantic or completely over the top.

That's intentional.

Because personal style doesn't have to belong to one subculture, follow one aesthetic or stay the same every day.

Whether you're creating a cosplay, heading to a festival or Renaissance Faire, building a vintage-inspired look, dressing for an event, or simply looking for something that feels unmistakably you, Hip Crypt is about giving you the pieces to make it your own.

Here you'll discover influences from alternative fashion, vintage style, retro horror, cosplay, pinup, Goth, Rockabilly, Psychobilly, Punk, Victorian and Steampunk — sometimes separately and sometimes colliding in ways they probably weren't supposed to.

That's part of the fun.
